We chose a few areas in which to compare each site, and rate their value as an Educational resource. We decided that three main factors contribute to the usefulness of a blog or website:
1. How often it is updated
2. The amount of current and archived useful information
3. How well the site is organized and searchable for content.
With those three categories, we developed the 1-5 rating system found below.
Rarely updated, but some useful resources, not clearly organized
Updated inconsistently, a new blog with few archived resources, somewhat organized
Updated often, several useful resources, but difficult to navigate
Updated regularly, lots of useful resources, somewhat difficult to navigate / search
